AIRPORTS & TRAVEL TIME
Midland/ Odessa Airport (MAF): 237 miles (4 hr.) drive to Terlingua
El Paso Airport (ELP): 300 miles (4 hr. 45 min.) to Terlingua
San Antonio Airport (SAT): 460 miles (7 hr.) to Terlingua
Austin Airport (AUS): 490 miles (7 hr. 35 min.) to Terlingua
All above mentioned airports have rental car providers. Book rental cars in advance as South Western road trips have become wildly popular. Midland Airport will likely have minimal rental car options and fewer flight options. We recommend flying into El Paso- it is a beautiful drive (especially if you take the Hwy 170 River Road) and it has more rental car options than Midland.
Grocery options: If you plan to cook during your Willow House stay, please keep in mind there is only 1 small general store near the property- Cottonwood General Store. It is approximately 4.5 miles from site. Cottonwood General has a great selection of just about everything you would need. They are slightly limited in meat and fresh produce selections,so consider planning ahead if you are craving a specialty item for dinner.
For the widest selection, we recommend bringing a cooler in your car and stopping at Porter's on your way into town which is the grocery store in Alpine (80 miles from Terlingua) prior to arrival.
THE DRIVE
Wherever you are coming from, there will be a drive involved. However, driving through Far West Texas is one of the best parts about coming out here. Once out of the city you are traveling from, enjoy hours of beautiful open road.

Option 1 (4 hr 45 min): Less Scenic Route

Disclaimer: This route is 30 minutes shorter than Option 2, but option 2 allows you to drive along the Rio Grande river on the Presido River Road.
